Phillip J. Curtiss
Chief Technology Officer

As CTO of InfoMine Phillip is responsible for all technical elements of InfoMine's operations as well as the design and implementation of the technical solutions developed and sold at InfoMine. Integral to the growth of InfoMine is its ability to keep abreast of the current technologies and business models that surround these technologies. Phillip is also responsible for keeping the company at the cutting edge; able to understand and make use of these new technologies as they become mature enough to withstand the abuse of a production environment.
Phillip grew up in Rockville, Maryland until he entered college at the University of Maryland in 1985. Initially studying computer science and later studying mathematics as well as philosophy of language, he finally joined the University of Maryland Institute for Advanced Computer studies where he later became the codirector of the laboratory for parallel computation. Phillip later joined the Institute as a research fellow whose research focused on the application of high-performance computing to areas of clinical medicine and biology.
After creating the first embedded graphics subsystem for the Connection Machine-5 Supercomputer, Phillip moved away from the laboratory for parallel computation and worked with the director of the Institute to initiate the formation of the Center for High-Performance Computing in Medicine and Biology. There was a lot of interest in the Center, but the Center project never moved beyond its initial formation stage. Phillip then left the University environment and moved to Montana in 1995 to begin InfoMine with Kelson Colbo and three (3) other business partners. As a cofounder, there was a lot of interest in bringing a research and development personality to InfoMine which persists today.
When not at his office reading the trade journals or on-line reading webFourms, Phillip can be found writing software, writing poetry, recreationally reading and working with friends at the local cable access television station. Phillip enjoys spending time with his family and friends as well as taking in the latest movie or fine arts available in the great city of Helena, Montana.
